Mission

Ruff Start Rescue, is dedicated to saving all animals whose lives are at risk. Office in Princeton, MN with foster homes located around Minnesota; we are determined to educate the community about the importance of animal rescue and safety.

We rescue animals from high kill facilities, rehabilitate the sick, love the unsocialized pets and maintain a 100% spay/neuter program. Ruff Start Rescue strives to end pet overpopulation and safely place all animals in loving homes.

Who We Are & How We Do It
We are a foster home-based Non Profit 501c3, No-Kill dog and cat rescue based in Central Minnesota. We rescue stray, neglected, abandoned, and surrendered dogs and cats as well as ferrets, guinea pigs and rabbits. We work very hard to place them in new loving homes.
This group could not survive without our wonderful volunteers who spend countless hours devoting time to save lives

By Choice
We do not have a shelter. We believe that a home environment is far more desirable than a shelter or kennel. We rely exclusively on foster homes in which to place our pets until they find their forever homes!

We Can't Take Every Animal
Because we don’t have a shelter, we can only take a new animal when we have a vacant foster home for the pets to live while they await their forever home. Sadly, we are not able to assist every animal that crosses our path. There are just too many dogs and cats out there that need help. We promise to do our very best to help find every pet his or her forever home!

Please visit our website if you are interested in volunteering, fostering, or adopting!
