|About||Sanctuary Counselling and Training provides individual, family and group counselling, as well as trauma informed workshops and trainings.|
A Sanctuary is a place of healing, comfort and safety, a refuge from the storms in our life. At Sanctuary Counselling and Training we endeavor not only to provide that environment for our clients but also to help them connect with the Sanctuary within.
Therapists at Sanctuary Counselling and Training employ a strengths-based, client centered approach to therapeutic work in a trauma-informed, attachment based model. We utilize integrative methods including: narrative therapy; psychodynamic theory; solution focused therapy; C.B.T.; D.B.T; mindfulness meditation; and arts-based approaches in a Sanctuary model of care.
Our trainings utilize a lecture style that prioritizes group experiential learning, arts-based activities and use of self.
Specializing in the areas of trauma & attachment, adolescent psychology, gender and sexuality, diversity and inclusion, Sanctuary is an alternative private practice that offers experience and competency is working with marginalized communities including LGBTQ2SIAA, multicultural communities, spiritual communities, youth, seniors, disabled persons, victims and offenders of crime, and many others.
We recognize that a wounded sense of belonging and community is often at the heart of many of the issues we experience across the lifespan even more so for folks navigating complex identities or experiences.
