Sanskrit is UNC Charlotte's nationally recognized, award winning literary-arts magazine. It is published once a year in the spring.
It is a collection of poems, short stories, and art from people all around the world and from students at UNCC. All of the work goes through a selection process involving the Sanskrit staff and university professors.
Each year the magazine has a theme. This theme is completely independent from the work and is chosen by the Editor as a design element to unify the magazine. The theme is kept secret until the return of the magazine in March when we have our annual gallery showing and poetry reading.
The magazine is free to students and can be found in the following places on campus:
Student Media (lower level of the Student Union)
Student Union (near the information desk)
Fretwell (2nd floor breezeway & lower level near the coffee shop)
Macy (1st floor near main entrance)
Rowe (1st floor next to main lecture hall)
If you are not a UNC Charlotte student and would like a copy, please send a check for $10/copy to the address below.
If you're not excited about it yet... you should be.
Please submit by November 3rd, 2017 to be considered for publication in the 2018 issue! See the Sanskrit website for submission guidelines and forms.
Over the years, we have won several national awards. They include:
Associated Collegiate Press (ACP):
Best in Show
Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA):
Gold Crown Award
Silver Crown Award
