|About||One of Canada's leading professional dance schools - the official training centre of Alberta Ballet.|
|Mission||The School of Alberta Ballet is the centre of excellence for ballet training in western Canada, providing superior professional training in a friendly, stimulating and artistically creative learning environment. The School preserves the traditions of classical ballet while broadening the training of each student to reflect dance in its many forms.|
Led by Artistic Principal Ashley McNeil, the School of Alberta Ballet is the official training centre of Alberta Ballet. Established in 1991, our school offers unparalleled artistic training to dancers of all ages and levels through the Professional Division and Open Division. The school’s Calgary facilities, including academic classrooms and artistic studios, are located in the heart of Downtown Calgary. In 2014, our school launched its second branch of Open Division programming in Edmonton, Alberta, under the direction of Margaret Dalwood at the Ruth Carse Centre for Dance.
Our Open Division provides classes for students aged 3 to adult, with beginner, recreational and advanced classes available. The experienced faculty of the Open Division focuses on developing strength, technique and artistry in their students, providing everyone with a dedicated program specific to their needs.
The Professional Division caters to students in Grades 7-12 as well as post-secondary students and aspiring ballet instructors who wish to pursue a career in ballet. All students learn from an experienced, international faculty, guest teachers, and professionals of Alberta Ballet who help them achieve their dreams.
The Professional Division Academic program is an accredited private school featuring small class sizes and dedicated, professional instructors. Students receive a High School Diploma and graduate with the training and confidence required to pursue a professional career both on the stage and off.
