Key to the professionalism of such personnel was the industry training to a recognised standard. At the time, the benchmark for such standards was the Security Industry Training Organisation (SITO), range of training courses which covered every aspect of security provision, including that of Close Protection.
Securetask Security Ltd embarked upon gaining accreditation as a SITO Recognised Training provider, which was achieved well within the self-given schedule of 6 months.
Historically, Securetask Security Ltd (SSL), were providers of security services within the Tameside and Oldham boroughs, however, over a 5 year period, such was their success, that they provided services throughout the Greater Manchester region, for customers which included Metrolink, Oldham MBC, Trafford MBC, Tameside MBC, Stockport MBC, Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Waste, Oldham NHS Trust, United Norwest Co Operative Society,Scottish and Newcastle Brewery, to name but a few.
In the late 1990’s, SSL even provided security services for the Home Office, as one of a series of providers with the task of ensuring the safety and security of Kosovan refugees, given shelter in the UK at the height of the Balkans conflict. All personnel assigned to this task had to undertake SC Clearance prior to deployment and the contract was met fully by SSL with no penalties or problems.
In essence, SSL are a fully professional, experienced, quality security service provider with the right blend of qualifications, accreditations, experience and quality control measures that will enhance a clients business reputation, at a cost that is competitive and reflects the quality of the service provided.

As each service provided is assessed by both the SIA and an Independent body, as detailed within the ACS provision, they are also subject to the codes of practice as defined within their relevant British Standard. Each service provided must comply with the codes of practice defined in British Standards for Manned Guarding, Key Holding & Alarm response, and the provision of CCTV Operatives.
In addition, the employment of relevant personnel the company employs to undertake such duties, is also subject to a British Standard, BS 7858 (Screening & Vetting). The employment of just one individual to undertake security duties, demands a minimum 27 point checklist, despite already being SIA Licensed (the SIA having already screened and vetted the individual to satisfy their criteria for suitability for work within the security industry).
In summary, the company complies to four separate British Standards. As it happens, all of these combined define every area of operation and service that the company provides. Therefore, in terms of its core activities, the company complies with British Standards for all of its business activities.
From the very first day of the establishment of the company, it has been both recognised and accepted that, in order for the company to be successful in the attraction of customers and employees’ alike, it would need to meet the criteria and requirements of the Private Security Industry Act 2004, and the Security Industry Authority, in the form of the Approved Contractors Scheme.
The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is the Governmental Regulatory body for the Security Industry, utilising the legislation of the Private Security Industry Act 2004 as the essential criterion for any company, or individual, working within the security industry, as well as the relevant British Standards. It is a legal requirement for any individual working within the security industry to be licensed accordingly by the SIA. These
