|About||Limousin-Cottage is a quaint 18C holiday cottage in a quiet village setting in the Haute Vienne. The well furnished/equipped cottage is available all year.|
Limousin-Cottage is a lovely, traditional holiday home in a beautiful and very rural part of SW France. The Limousin is known as the French Lake District, and there are forested mountains, and many winding rivers making it an ideal region for fishing or walking. It is perfect for a get-away-from-it-all break any time of the year. The one-bedroomed cottage is a perfect getaway for a couple, but can sleep four. It is in a quiet off-road village location, with safe parking directly in front.
Weekly prices range from €265 in low season up to €335 in high season. We also offer a great-value monthly tarif for a longer stay between October and March.
The 18C stone cottage is ideally situated for easy road access not only to the three departments of the Limousin region, the Correze (19), Haute Vienne (87) and Creuse (23), but also very close to the borders of neighbouring departments, the Indre (36) and the Vienne (86). Limoges airport is just a 30-40 min drive away with flights from several UK airports, such as Bristol, East Midlands, Stansted, Leeds/Bradford, Manchester and Birmingham, with both Ryanair and Flybe.
The little village is surrounded by open countryside, yet just a mile along the road from a small town with everything you may need, including two great little bar restaurants. Also just along the road from the cottage is Lake Mondon, with an open air swimming pool and poolside bar restaurant during the Summer months, plus great riverside walks through medieval forests with caves and waterfalls. Also at Lake Mondon there is an Auberge, where they serve authentic, freshly prepared French cuisine using locally sourced produce such as the famous Limousin beef. There are often events going on at the lake, such as night markets, car boot sales and evenings with music and dancing.
Elsewhere in the region there are always events going on, such as car boot sales, plus plenty of activities like golf, horse-riding, markets, historical places and Chateaux, and even hot
