Pistol Course - local laws, safe pistol handling, safe firearms storage, transportation, proper ammunition selection, holster selection, personal carry choices and techniques and proper firearms cleaning. Course is designed to teach the basic operations of the selected handgun (Semi-Auto or revolver) and basic fundamentals of pistol shooting. A 50 round live fire course exercise is monitored by a firearms instructor.
Basic Pistol Course - Highly Recommended Course - Certificate Awarded
Introduction to the Safety Rules, local laws, safe pistol handling skills, safe firearms storage, transporting firearms, proper ammunition selection, and purchasing firearms/selection tips and firearm ownership responsibilities. Course teaches the basic knowledge skills, fundamentals and application for revolvers and semi-automatics. A complete review of basic fundamentals of proper stance (Three stance are covered) proper grip, breath control techniques, proper aiming techniques to include identification of sight alignment and sight picture, trigger control/placement and proper follow-thru movements. Course will detail common pistol shooting errors and provide corrective techniques. A 50 round live fire course exercise is monitored by a firearms instructor and range safety officer. * BSA and Royal Rangers approved
Basic Shotgun Course- Certificate Awarded
Introduction to the safety rules, safe shotgun handing skills, transportation of “long guns” and basic shotgun development. Course will review the four (4) types of shotguns and demonstrate safe handling and operational knowledge of each type. A review of the “gauge concept” proper “shot shell” and shotgun selection will identify as related to the recreational shooting, close quarter self- defense and various hunting scenarios.
