Description Hi there!

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C.A.C.C. and hold an M.A. in Counselling Psychology. My aim: "Helping you with Possibilities and Potential."

I've worked with a variety of patients contending with concurrent disorders, HIV, and addictions at Doctor Peters AIDS Foundation, and at Edgewood Addiction Services Network. I offer objective guidance in dealing with both the challenges and breakthroughs of the addiction process.

I've completed a clinical internship at Living Systems in Marriage and Family Counselling. This unique style of therapy tracks how emotional energy - often in the form of chronic anxiety - can move through a family. The training helps me to identify areas of dysfunction within family dynamics, which helps to either facilitate or disrupt that flow of energy to create healthier relationships and more interconnectedness.

As a way of giving back to the community I work pro-bono at Oak Counselling Services, providing therapy and support for those struggling with trauma, anxiety, mental health issues, grief, and loss. I've been a facilitator at Parent Support Services providing advocacy, support, resource material, and community education for parents in crisis.

I believe in people’s innate, yet often untapped reserves of mental strength and rationality. My work ideally can help a person tap into the well of possibilities and potential. There is no one size fits all theoretical orientation, but all forward momentum stems from heightened self-awareness, self-reliance and self-compassion, ultimately improving ones’ quality of life. Mental health is part of the package of overall health. I believe it is common to favour the body over the mind. I encourage clients to close that gap. When one experiences emotional pain, feelings of helplessness and failure inevitably crop up.
