|About||Shenandoah University Outdoors encourages students and employees to spend time outside by offering activities for all skills, abilities and inclinations.|
Shenandoah University Outdoors offers activities that promote self-awareness and self-esteem, cultivate personal growth, develop interpersonal skills and outdoor leadership skills. It operates within the framework of Leave No Trace outdoor ethics as well as the Challenge by Choice and Full Value Contract philosophies.
Many Shenandoah University Outdoors programs are based at the Shenandoah University River Campus at Cool Spring (1400 Parker Lane, Bluemont, Va.), 195 acres of pure beauty and stillness along a 1.5-mile stretch of the Shenandoah River. A former golf course, the property has 5 paved miles of pathway, ideal for a leisurely walk.
The Shenandoah University River Campus at Cool Spring is unique. It's an experiential, outdoor campus. It is an academic facility. It's a co-curricular facility for non-academic programs such as athletics and student life. And, it's a community facility that individuals and organizations can use.
SURC@CS Program Coordinator T. Grant Lewis is also Assistant Professor Outdoor Leadership at Shenandoah University. Reach him at (540) 535-4840 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Shenandoah University River Campus at Cool Spring is exactly 18.5 miles east of Shenandoah's main campus in Winchester. Simply take Rt. 7 (Berryville Avenue) east and cross the Shenandoah River. Take the very first left after crossing the river onto road number F709. Follow the road to the former club house.
