|About||Sleep Inn Hostel Koh Tao was new build in 2015. It is conveniently central located in Mae Haad and in 3 minute walking Distance from the Pier & Beach|
We started running the hostel around September 2015 when it was newly build. Hospitality is our main Focus, besides not considering ourselves as “Party-Hostel”, we like to catch up with our Guests at our Social Areas and give them some insights into the Island Life. This hostel is our first project on Koh Tao and recently (January 2017), we also opened the Sleep Inn *upcycled* guest house at the opposite of the street. The main idea behind this guest house is “Upcycling”.
To go against the stream of massive Construction of new Buildings on Koh Tao, we rented one of the oldest guesthouses on the island to restructure and with local resources to renovate. Except for the mattress and the necessary new installations, everything was processed and recycled.

We can make a difference!
Koh Tao is a beautiful place with still lots of nature and a stunning underwater world. But like everywhere in the world, our environment is threatened by the pollution and the waste we produce. To take action and to be a part of ‘reducing the garbage mountain’, to keep our island and the ocean clean, we try to produce as less garbage as we can and reuse as much as possible. Our project just started at the beginning of this year 2017. You will see some things like reused glass bottles for lights, homemade tables out of old furniture and rubber tires, tissue boxes from butter pots and toilet paperhangers from plastic gallons. The project is young and needs time to grow. We need to learn how we can upcycle as much as possible and we are always open minded for suggestions or ideas. Besides that, we support a lot of initiatives like the eco-bottles (200B) that you can refill around the island (see further for more information) and beach clean ups.
