Dr. Katherine is a multi-passionate licensed psychologist in the State of New Jersey and Mind-Body Nutrition Coach. She is the founder of the South Jersey Center for Psychological Services, LLC.
Prior to entering into private practice back in 2006, she held a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychology at Rowan University. It was there that her deep passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families was truly solidified. She founded her private practice on the principles of compassion, inner peace, balance, and integrity to work with children, young adults, and their parents. Her work has included individual therapy, couples therapy, marriage counseling, and family therapy.
The work was extremely fulfilling, and she found that those families open to learning and practicing mind-body techniques reached their goals more efficiently. Dr. Katherine also found that the progress made was long lasting.
It just then had to happen – a deeper dive into the fascinating connections between brain, body, and behavior. Always fascinated by the field of health and wellness, Dr. Katherine chose to work under Marc David, Founder of the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, to become a Mind-Body Nutrition Coach.
Her vision in pursuing this type of coaching certification was to equip herself with what she needed to be effective in launching a campaign aimed at helping women and men navigate the minefield of the negative images about food, weight, and diet that we all encounter everyday; educating women and men on how what we’ve been told about being willpower weaklings is all wrong; and empowering women and men to take charge of their nutritional life by ditching diets and walking away from all the conflicting advice we often hear from nutrition experts.
