Support the arts in education by joining the SPHS theater booster club!
Our mission is to enhance the value of education of the arts through community involvement and parental participation
South Plantation High School is recognized as the only cluster school in the Broward School District for the deaf and hard of hearing. Because of this unique status, the theater program director, Jason Zembuch, has chosen to direct all productions in a style known as "Theater For The Deaf" with all mainstage productions being performed in both voice and sign language.
Friends of the Theatre is a parent booster club for the unique theater arts program at South Plantation High School. The mission of the theater program itself is two-fold:
First, to empower the youth to engage with the world around through the arts, while embracing a culture that takes risk without fear of failure. Second: to provide excellence in theatrical programing that is accessible to all audience members which engages, challenges, and inspires the community in which we live.
The mission of the parent booster club, the Friends of the Theater (FOTT), is to enhance the value of education of the arts for both the hearing and hearing impaired through community involvement and parental participation.
The FOTT was incorporated under the name South Plantation Friends of the Theatre in 2006 to support theatre, arts and education at South Plantation High School which is located in Broward County, Florida.
