|About||Special Olympics Australia is part of a global inclusion movement using sport, health, education and leadership programs every day around the world to end discrimination against and empower people with intellectual disabilities.|
|Mission||To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, coaches, other Special Olympics athletes and the broader community.|
Comments that are clearly spam, such as the repeated use of the R-word over and over again will be reported to Facebook as an attack on an individual or group as these comments are clearly doing nothing but trying to denigrate people with disabilities. These comments will also be removed from the page, and the commenter banned from the page, because they do not contribute to the conversation, or help it move forward in a productive manner, but only serve to hurt people with disabilities and those that love them.
This page and its fans are happy to engage those of you who disagree with our stance in a productive conversation and will not remove comments just because you disagree with us. But we do reserve the right to remove clearly hateful comments, profanity laced comments, or comments that do not serve to move the conversation forward in any way.
