|About||Splashers specialises in swimming lessons from toddlers to adult sessions catering for all needs encouraging every child to achieve their full potential!|
Splashers Swim Academy was started 20 years ago to offer a different approach to lessons. During my early teaching and coaching career I could see many swimmers with very poor technique.
Getting technique right on short distances is essential or swimmers will be fighting the water, working hard but not achieving distance or speed. Good technique will maximise propulsion and minimise resistance. Once learnt, swimming is one of the few sports that can be enjoyed at any age.
At Splashers we feel it is very important for the children to know that water can be great fun but must be respected. We teach them how to look after themselves and others safely in and around water. Swimming is a very important life skill.
Our aim at Splashers Swim Academy is to meet the needs of all individuals in a safe and happy environment. We encourage all our students to reach their full potential in the water.
From our parent and toddler groups swimmers development is monitored using the ASA National Swimming Plan which can take the swimmers to a competitive standard of swimming.
Swimming is a life still so personal survival and water safety are a very important part of our teaching structure. Older swimmers are also offered the opportunity to earn their bronze, silver and gold honours awards. Many of our teaching staff have followed this pathway.
The certificates and awards the students receive is of no extra cost and are given out at the end of each term.
Children can start swimming at the age of 2 in our parent and toddler sessions on a Saturday morning and can go on to swim in the length sessions on a Monday or Thursday evening. The adult sessions take part on a Thursday evening.
