|About||Our Parish, which dates back to the 12th century consists of the northern half of Loughton and the whole of Debden|
|Mission||We see ourselves as being a church where all strive to follow the teachings of Jesus, loving God and serving our local community and extending a welcome to all people irrespective of race, creed or colour. We aim to build up a fully inclusive church community which excludes nobody and which points to the fulfillment of Jesus' vision of God's kingdom where all of God's children can dwell together in peace and unity.|
We have two churches - the Parish Church of St John the Baptist in Church Lane and the Church of St Nicholas in Rectory Lane on the site of the old parish church.
The parish contains two state primary schools, a comprehensive school for children from 11-16yrs, a tertiary college for 16-18 yr.olds and the E15 Acting School. We also have historic links with the Davenant School - a state Comprehensive school for 11-18 yr olds with a Christian Foundation and Chigwell School - an independant school for 7-18 yr olds.
Set in the heart of Epping Forest the parish contains some light industry, some shopping centres, a population of 19,000 people, is one of three Church of England parishes in Loughton and is an active member of the ecumenical grouping 'Churches Together in Loughton.
