Description We can also offer encapsulating leaded panels into glazed units making it a triple glazed window. Alternatively, toughened glass can be fitted behind a leaded window for added protection.

Banks and Wood Stained Glass is continuing in the footsteps of family ancestors Burlinson &
Grylls who founded a glass works in 1868, making church and domestic windows up and down the
British Isles, America, Africa and Australia.
Please contact us or come into the studio and see us, we can then give you advice on projects and
help with design ideas.

For beginners and intermediate levels
Create an A4 size leaded panel in a day, no previous experience required. Tuition will be given on
the procedure for making a panel to a design that will teach you how to cut curved as well as
straight lines out of glass. The day will consist of laying out your design, cutting glass, leading the
panel, soldering the cames together and finishing off with a specialist cement compound to hold the panel together and make it watertight.

If you are someone already practised in stained glass but would like to expand your skill, please
contact us, as we are able to offer advanced tuition and advice.

use of copper foil allows intricate glass work to be accomplished and this workshop will take you
through the stages of design, glass cutting, foiling, soldering and applying a patina to the finished
