Mission statement: to recruit, assist, and employ today's student veterans into tomorrow's STEM leaders.
Nationally, there is a lack of new graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) degrees. From the Whitehouse on down, there is a major push to get more students into STEM. Simultaneously, there is a huge push to get veterans into good jobs upon leaving their service. STEM Veterans USA’s mission is to address both of these issues. Due in part to a veteran friendly hiring process, many companies seek out veterans when they are hiring. Research from the Million Records Project by Student Veterans of America showed that every semester there are roughly 150,000 veterans across the United States and four countries that are pursuing a STEM degree. As veterans rejoin the civilian world, they often find themselves in need of guidance when it comes to finding a career path, internship and job opportunities, and overall networking connections. Our mission at STEM Vets USA is focused on creating an effective buffering system which helps maintain a veteran's effectiveness and motivation while bridging the gap between educational assistance, professional development, and employment.
