Thanks for visiting my shop! Please let me know if you have any questions.
I discovered my passion for being an artist my freshman year in college and pursued my study towards a Fine Arts degree. Originally inspired by the creation of textiles, I began my career as a weaver. Moving around the country, loom in tow; I was soon drawn to watercolors as a means of artistic expression.
Raising a family and moving every few years, the loom was used less and less. Instead I filled my limited free time taking reference photos and using them for the basis of my watercolors.
I have been a passionate watercolorist now for nearly 2 decades. In recent years I have had the honor to be recognized by OWS (The Ohio Watercolor Association) along with receiving several local awards for my watercolors.
My style of painting is detailed, striving to create works that are more life-like. In contrast, I have rediscovered the Art of Collage, a technique I first practiced during my years of study. Enjoying the distinction between my more realistic watercolors, the loose spontaneity and abstract interpretation utilized in my collages provides me with a new voice.
Today I can often be found creating several works at the same time. The ability to switch between the careful techniques of my watercolors to the loose free style of collage has provided me with a new energy and joy.
I hope that you will enjoy my works as much as I have enjoyed their creation!
