Recent Wine Spectator Reviews (More on the way!):
Cabernet Franc 2011- 90 points and Editor's Choice- A sweet bouquet of flowers is first on the nose, followed by pomegranate and ripe strawberry.
Plum sets in on the palate, and finishes with lean minerality and gentle tannins.
Viognier 2012 Editor's Choice- A full bodied white, forward with ripe melon and bit of Muscat. It has a long focused finish that shows caramel on the end. A dry wine with .12 g/L of residual sugar.
Syrah 2010- 90 points- "From tiers of black cherry and ripe plums to dark chocolate and a soft cinnamon finish, our Syrah has all the weight and depth one should expect from this wonderful grape," says Joe Buckel, winemaker. "Tempered by an elegant structure charming, surprising
brightness, we can now say our latest Syrah vintage stands with the best in the country."
Merlot 2010 - 90 points - "Great value for the price, showing Napa dryness, balance and complexity. From the coolish southern part of Napa Valley, it offers black cherry, dark chocolate, sweet licorice and toasty oak flavors, accented by crisp acidity. The grapes are from a single vineyard." Steve Heimoff (Wine Enthusiast)
2008 Down Canyon Blend - 88 points - "Ripe, with soft edges and a smoky hint to the spiced cassis, plum sauce, and blueberry fruit flavors. The fleshy finish lets the spice take over. Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now. 222 cases made."
2008 Chardonnay Signature - 86 points - "A nice juicy version, with Jonagold apple and glazed pear notes, judicious butter and a hint of grilled hazelnut. Nicely done. Drink now. 69 cases made."
2008 Chardonnay - 85 points - "Straightforward, offering plump pear and yellow apple notes with a buttery edge, but then manages to stay fresh and persistent on the finish. Drink now. 199 cases made."
