Mission Since 1964, Swiss archaeologists have been exploring the ancient city of Eretria, on the island of Euboea. More recently excavations near Amarynthos have led to the discovery of the Sanctuary of Artemis, the most renowned shrine of the Eretrians. The School also endorses Swiss archaeological projects elsewhere in Greece.
