|About||We are the on campus whanau for Māori and Pasifika students at Victoria University of Wellington, here to help you with holistic and academic support. Student success is our success.|
This is the new official page for Te Pūtahi Atawhai, an on campus whanau at Victoria University Kelburn campus for Māori and Pasifika students.
We provide both holistic and academic support in a culturally safe space. Throughout the academic year Te Pūtahi Atawhai puts on social events for its students, such as sausage sizzles, workshops and celebrations. Stop into the office or follow our social media to get updates!
The rooms are open from 9am, and include quiet study spaces, study spaces where you can have discussions, a deck to study on, mentoring rooms and a large computer suite with printers.
Staff are available for appointments, or you can just drop in. If you are in need of advice about any aspect of university life, talk to Te Pūtahi Atawhai’s staff. They work within Māori and Pasifika cultural frameworks and look at every situation in the context of you as a whole. Drop in for wananga or tahaloa.
They can design your own “kete”: an individual success package covering your personal, academic, family and sporting commitments.
Talk to them about financial support and scholarships, time management and learning action plans, course guidance, study support, advocacy, staying well and being resilient, postgraduate study.
We also produce ManuTV vlogs every two weeks, keep an eye out for new episodes on our youtube and facebook channels!
We are here to help and nurture your journey as Victoria University students, so nau mai haere mai!
