Since 1993, the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards have been honoring the most outstanding environmental stewardship projects from across Texas.
The mission of the TEEA program is to honor the state's most outstanding waste reduction and pollution prevention projects.
Under the Waste Reduction Policy Act of 1991, the TCEQ initiated the Texas Environmental Excellence Awards in 1993. Presented every spring, the awards are given in up to 9 diverse categories across the public and private sectors. By honoring these winners, the TCEQ hopes to encourage other citizens to initiate like-minded projects and reinforce a spirit of environmental stewardship.
