The Band of The Parachute RegimentThe Band of The Parachute Regiment are based in Colchester, and form part of 16 Air Assault Brigade. They are one of six Multi Capability Bands in the Corps of Army Music.
The Band are in very high demand as a marching band but also perform as a concert band, big band, and smaller ensembles such as a jazz group, brass quintet or fanfare team.
Last year, formal military engagements supported by the Band included commemorations of the 70th Anniversary of Operation Varsity, Germany; the International Military Pilgrimage in Lourdes, France; the rededication of the Bastion Memorial Wall at the National Memorial Arboretum, and the famous Sovereign's Parade at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
High profile public events included the maiden arrival of P&O Britannia into Southampton, the British Touring Car Championships at Silverstone and the Rugby World Cup at several venues including the iconic Olympic Stadium.
This year The Band of The Parachute Regiment have been invited to perform at Spruce Meadows in Canada and whilst there will also provide support to British Army Training Unit Suffield in Alberta - the largest training area used by the British Army.
