Multi species angler of 20+ years. Legally blind, but never gonna stop fishing!
I've had diabetes for 30+ years now and several other health problems as well. In the past 2 years I've been dealing with several eye problems such as vascular bleeds, cataracts, third nerve palsy, blindness, and a narrowing field of vision. I am now certified as legally blind, BUT I do NOT let that stop me from doing what I am passionate about! I can see out of my left eye alright, but my field of vision is low. The eye doctor said it would be like if a person with normal vision was to hold up a toilet paper roll to their eye and look through it and try to walk around. I can't drive so I rely on other people for transportation. It's also hard for me to see up close so SOMETIMES it's hard for me to tie knots, but when you've been fishing for 20+ years and have been tying the same knots for so many years you can almost do it with your eyes closed. I actually close my eyes and practice tying them sometimes. My hopes are to make a name for myself in the fishing industry and inspire people to go after their dreams no matter what. Just because you have a disability doesn't mean you can't do what you love. DON'T let it stop you! Tight lines ya'll!
