Throphill Grange was formed from a range of 18th century granaries; the house is surrounded by large gardens and two of our own fields.
The surrounding countryside is exceptionally attractive rolling farmland and woods. There is a private terrace with a table and chairs for guests’ use in sunny weather.
Guests have exclusive use of the Weil library whilst staying; in the winter months breakfast is served here; we use the dining room for breakfast in the summer.
The room has a log fire and is exceptionally cosy; along with a wide range of books there is a Freeview TV.
We live at the other end of the house whilst guests are staying, giving privacy whilst enjoying this lovely room.
Throphill Grange is ideally located for guests on business in the Morpeth or Newcastle area. Morpeth is 4 miles to the east whilst Newcastle is 19 miles to the south. The flagship National Trust properties Cragside and Wallington Hall are a short drive away and my favourite, Belsay Hall and Castle is 5 miles away.
Our local pub, The Dyke Neuk is half a mile away. It serves good food and a range of local ales.
