About Unique handmade wind chimes made from silverware, brass, pewter, silver teapots. Handmade jewelry, and more to come. Live, Laugh, Love and LISTEN.
Description I enjoy making things beautiful again. What others see as junk I see potential. I started making silverware wind chimes a several years ago after moving to Bear Creek with my husband. We had an over abundance of silverware and we were going to take them to the thrift store and I said no... I've seen wind chimes made from silverware before somewhere. So I decided to give it a try and after many broken drill bits I began using just silverware and fishing line to make wind chimes. As I continued to create I found other techniques and other materials. My work became much more high end and better quality. I wanted them to be as appealing to the eye as to the ear and durable to last for years. So I began using stronger stringing material and beads - lots of pretty beads. I've also taught myself how to create silverware jewelry. I started giving them to friends and family as gifts. They liked them so much that they wanted to purchase them from me to give as gifts to their friends and family and so on it goes. So by word of mouth is where my art blossomed. I've done some art shows such as "The First Sunday Art Walk" in Pittsboro, NC. My wind chimes seemed to be a hit. One of my first customers called me and said "I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your wind chimes. I'm listening to the tingle now. They are so cool, pretty to look at and sound even better" I still have that message on my phone. Whenever I begin to get "artist block" I listen to that message and it gets me going. One of the most important goals for me is to reuse/repurpose items. Each piece is carefully picked, cleaned, polished and created in to a unique piece of art. I'm always looking for ways to grow as an artist so I work with a lot of different media and mostly self taught. This began as a hobby but has grown to be much more than that. So here I am doing something I love and can't wait to do everyday. I create handcrafted jewelry, painting watercolors and acrylics. I also create handcrafte
