Toni-Cara Stellitano is a licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has practiced individual and family therapy in several community based treatment programs on Long Island assisting adults, children and families in their pursuit of emotional wellness. She received her undergraduate degree at Siena College and her Master’s degree from Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine. Her practice emphasizes both Experiential and Cognitive Behavioral techniques, as well as mindfulness, and movement interventions. She presented at the First Annual International Children’s Forum in Beijing, China in August of 2011 and she was the Key Note Speaker and workshop leader on The Mind Body Connection: Interventions for Personal and Professional Wellness at North Shore Child and Family Guidance Center in 2012. She also presented at the Office of Mental Health’s annual Child Wellness Symposium, sharing her clinical findings on Hurricane Sandy Crisis Relief.
She wrote an audio review supporting the clinical implications for meditation which was published in 2014 in Social Work With Groups- a peer reviewed scholarly journal.
She worked for many years at an outpatient mental health clinic, leading an esteem building group for adolescents using expressive arts and experiential therapies to empower young girls to become strong and self-loving young women. As an active member of Woman Within International, an international non-for-profit which focuses on healing through community support, she firmly believes in the value of the corrective experience and in the healing power of unconditional positive regard.
