Ujima believes that all children should grow up within the family set up.
Ujima is an old Swahili word that means “achieved with the help of others”.
Ujima Foundation is a sustainable urban development organization providing employability training to orphaned youngsters that are taking full responsibility for their younger siblings. Unique to our approach, Ujima owns and runs two income generating properties that subsidize and supplement our training program.
|Awards||Ujima trains, guides and mediates 180 orphaned youngsters with familial responsibilities to be able to get a job and keep that job in order to sustain themselves and the children in their care, every year, so that they become fully participating members of society.|
