The official page for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Connecting Asia and the Pacific.
As the regional development arm of the United Nations, ESCAP plays a unique role as the only intergovernmental forum for all countries and territories of the Asian and Pacific region.
Our mission is to serve as the regional hub promoting cooperation among member States, to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic and social development in the Asia-Pacific region.
We support member States through strategic analysis, policy options, and technical cooperation to address key development challenges and to implement innovative solutions for region-wide economic prosperity, poverty reduction, social progress and environmental sustainability.
Established in 1947 with its headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand, ESCAP works to overcome some of the region’s greatest challenges by providing results oriented projects, technical assistance and capacity building to member States.
