The University Congregational Housing Association (UCHA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation formed in 1983 by a group of members of University Congregational United Church of Christ who wanted to address housing needs at that time. Our purpose is to provide or assist others in providing housing, without regard to religious affiliation, for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals and families who may be facing homelessness.
UCHA has a 34-year track record as a developer, landlord and property manager and currently houses 84 people year round. We are an entirely volunteer-run organization, dependent upon fundraising, public funds, grants and donations to finance its projects. It is our goal is to continue to expand our work in helping people move out of homelessness and into affordable housing.
