|About||This is the Facebook page for Diagnostic Imaging education at the University of Derby.|
Within Diagnostic Imaging, we have three main subject areas:
Osteoporosis and Falls
We've got close links with service, so our courses are up to date and meet the needs of the modern healthcare professional.
Our £1.5 million pound Clinical Skills Suite provides the facilities for us to use simulation within our teaching sessions, making them practical, hands on & patient focused. We have a x-ray machine, Computed Radiography system, two Ultrasound machines & two DXA scanners, which our students use frequently to improve their practical skills. We recently invested in state of the art Ultrasound simulation equipment (worth £90k) to provide our students with even more opportunities to improve their clinical skills.
We offer the following academic awards:
Foundation Degree for Support Staff Working in Health & Social Care (Assistant Practitioners)
BSc Hons Diagnostic Radiography
Pg Cert/DIp Medical Ultrasound
Pg Cert Osteoporosis & Falls Management
Pg Cert Bone Densitometry Reporting
MSc Advanced Practice
Doctor of Health & Social Care Practice
We also provide Clinical Supervisors training for clinical staff who support our student radiographers.
Subject to approval, we plan to run Return to Practice programmes for Diagnostic Radiography from September 2015.
