The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine was founded in 1970, making it one of the oldest and most established family medicine departments in the country. The department houses the Divisions of Family Medicine, Physician Assistant Studies, Public Health, and Occupational and Environmental Health each of which helps achieve the department's mission and withhold its values as it improves health within communities across the world.
The department has residents at the Sugar House, South Main, Centerville, and Madsen Clinics along with additional campuses in St. George, Utah, Ghana, Africa, and Songdo, South Korea.
