The City of Seattle's Upward Bound program serves college-bound students at Garfield HS, Rainier Beach HS and Chief Sealth HS.
To provide Upward Bound high school students with the necessary skills and motivation for educational success and growth in college, career and beyond.
The City of Seattle Upward Bound program is a college preparation program for low-income and first generation college-bound high school students at five Seattle high schools: Garfield HS, Rainier Beach HS, Ingraham HS, West Seattle HS, and Chief Sealth International HS. Students enroll in 9th or 10th grade and complete the program upon graduation from high school and enrollment in a four year college/university, two year college, or vocational/tech certificate or degree program. Students participate in a range of college prep activities including but not limited to- weekly tutoring, academic advising, college campus tours, workshops/seminars, career exploration activities and six week summer programs on Seattle University’s campus. The program is FREE for those who qualify for enrollment.
