|About||The Valencia Soil & Water Conservation District is a legal subdivision of the State, similar to County Governments or School Districts.|
To provide education, technical assistance and recognition to current and future stewards of the land in natural resources conservation.
VSWCD has been in the forefront of regional conservation efforts. Current projects are featured in photo pages.
The Valencia Soil & Water Conservation District is responsible, under state law, for conservation and sustainability of natural resources, such as soil, water, air, plants, animals, and people.
VSWCD boundaries includes all of Valencia County, a small part of Socorro County in the southern portion of the District, and the Laguna and Isleta Pueblo lands in Bernalillo, Cibola, and Sandoval Counties.
VSWCD is governed by a board of seven supervisors. Five supervisors are elected by the registered voters of the District, while the remaining two are appointed by the Soil and Water Conservation Commission.
