About Virginia Autism Spectrum Services (VASS) is a behavior analysis agency serving individuals with autism spectrum disorder in their home and community.
Virginia Autism Spectrum Services cover
Mission Virginia Autism Spectrum Services (VASS) was formed in response to local community need for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The VASS mission is to provide exceptional and ethical services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families. VASS believes that each individual with autism deserves an opportunity to achieve his or her full potential and each family deserves access to helpful resources to move forward with confidence.
VASS was created for families to access ABA services that can lead to a lasting, positive outcome for clients in need. Using the Natural Environment Teaching model in the home and community setting, VASS addresses the specific needs of the client so they may increase socially significant behavior and improve overall independence. A structured, systematic approach is used to ensure success for each client. VASS programs are evidence based and data-driven to thoroughly analyze all aspects of progress. Comprehensive treatment includes individually developed and measureable goals, behavior management, adaptive behavior, independence, and social skills with family members and peers. VASS is dedicated to providing guidance and planning so that individuals with ASD and their families can celebrate the achievements and progress made along the way.
Description Virginia Autism Spectrum Services, LLC provides a strong Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach to addressing client needs and encouraging their strengths. The seven dimensions of applied behavior analysis introduced by Baer, Wolf, and Risley in the renowned article “Some Current Dimensions of Applied Behavior Analysis" Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis (Spring, 1968) are the Core Aspects of service delivery for all clients and their families. These dimensions include: Applied, Behavioral, Analytic, Technological, Conceptual Systems, Effective, and Generality. While these concepts drive our practice, our Core Values include Dedication, Professionalism, Ethical Practice, and Respect. Our clients’ and families needs are priority throughout provision of support and service.

Virginia Autism Spectrum Services (VASS) offers support, training, and education to families and individuals affected by Autism and related disabilities. VASS practices are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and include 1:1 direct instruction with a therapist within the community or designated location. Individuals served range from ages 2-21 and often exhibit significant delays in communication and adaptive functioning. VASS works with the family to develop and implement an Individualized Support Plan (ISP) based on assessments to address specific deficit areas. Parent and/or caregiver involvement is a crucial component in effective and lasting positive outcomes from therapy.
