|About||Defend Alabama from a Congress that puts partisan politics above the interests of the people. Vote Danner Kline for Alabama's 6th District.|
Danner grew up in Marietta, Georgia, the son of an advertising executive turned Baptist preacher.
He moved to the Birmingham area in 1996 to attend Samford University. After graduating in 2000 with a B.A. in English, he spent ten years managing business telephone systems, first for Southern Progress Corporation and later for the City of Hoover.
In 2004, his frustration with Alabama’s Prohibition-era regulations on beer prompted him to start Free The Hops, the grassroots organization that successfully lobbied to eliminate those regulations. These efforts allowed the brewing industry to thrive in our state for the first time in a hundred years.
There were no breweries in the state when Free The Hops began and today there are over 25, with more on the way. The industry now contributes hundreds of millions of dollars a year to the state economy and breweries have been a critical component to neighborhood revitalization in many areas.
Danner’s volunteer efforts with Free The Hops led to him being offered a job in the beer industry. Today he manages the craft beer portfolio for a beverage wholesaler.
He lives in Vestavia Hills with his wife Jennifer, daughter Anne Camille, and son Rett. They attend Disciples Fellowship church in Hoover where Danner plays guitar in the worship band.
