|About||Walnut Creek on Ice, the 12th annual outdoor holiday ice rink! Join in the celebration!|
Get your groove on with a pair of ice skates at Walnut Creek on Ice, brought to you by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and Walnut Creek Downtown. We’re celebrating our 11th season in Civic Park and you’re invited to join in the fun!
Guests will enjoy skating on more than 8,000 sq. ft. of ice. Enjoy the ice, rain or shine, made possible by a tent structure partially covering the ice and the best ‘sound & light’ experience on ice!
Step into this special winter wonderland right in the center of downtown Walnut Creek. The ice rink will be lit up with twinkle lights, snowflakes, and holiday music. The community has embraced this holiday tradition but it would not be possible without its sponsors: Raymond James, 86 Magazine, Allied Waste Management, Bay Area News Group, Walnut Creek Magazine, Broadway Plaza, Diablo Magazine, Local Happenings Magazine, KKDV Radio, Parents’ Press & Your Town Monthly.
The season kicks off with the Children’s Winter Festival on Saturday, November 8. This event will take place 11am-11pm with 2hours of skating for $5. Families are invited to skate and be entertained by live skating performances, food and beverages, giveaways, live music & much more! Supporting sponsors include Rocco’s Pizza.
The rink will be open daily through January 11, 2015 with the exception of the holiday weeks.
Discounted rates are offered for groups, school field trips and scout troop outings of 20 or more.
Food & beverages available for purchase – make it a fun, midweek night out for the whole family!
A comprehensive Learn to Skate program will be offered with group & private lessons for both children & adults. “Fun Fundraisers” are a great opportunity for local schools and non-profit organizations to raise money while skating under the stars in Downtown Walnut Creek. The rink is available for private & corporate parties, as well as birthday parties for all ages.
