|About||We are committed solely to caring for patients with bleeding disorders. We provide comprehensive medical services to meet the needs of patients.|
The Washington Center for Bleeding Disorders at Bloodworks Northwest (formerly known as Puget Sound Blood Center) is dedicated to promoting and sustaining optimal living in people with bleeding disorders and families through research, education, and comprehensive care in partnership with patients, community groups, and the National Hemophilia Foundation.
As a world class comprehensive treatment and research facility for bleeding disorders, we will be the primary resource for patients, families, providers, and community. We will ensure that every patient in our region has access to factor products. Our patients will feel empowered and inspired, and staff in turn will be excited and motivated because they will have the resources and support to explore potential and achieve goals.
A multidisciplinary team of health-care professionals addresses concerns including education, health insurance, orthopedics, dentistry and HIV (the virus that causes AIDS). Pediatric services are coordinated with specialists at Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Seattle, Sacred Heart Spokane and Mary Bridge Tacoma. Outreach clinics, home visits to families, and inservice meetings with health professional are provided throughout Washington state. Program staff also coordinate community resources for bleeding disorder care.
