Join Elaine for WERQ: the wildly addictive cardio dance class! WERQ (pronounced "work") is the fiercely fun dance fitness workout based on currently-charting pop, rock, and hip hop music.
About WERQ: WERQ aims to build cardiovascular endurance through non-stop 60 minute classes. WERQ is non-verbally cued so you get to enjoy the music and the moves without having to hear someone yell at you! The warm-up features a dancer warm-up designed to get your body ready for lots of movement, and you'll experience a handful of moves from the routines later in class. The bulk of class will feature high and low impact moves (high are always optional) designed to engage the whole body, regardless of fitness level or dance experience. The cool down will bring your heart rate safely down and include some yoga-inspired static stretch and balance work.
About Elaine: Elaine has been a WERQaholic since the first class she stepped into in April 2015! Despite being an elementary music teacher, dancing petrified her, but she'd taken group exercise classes with the instructor and appreciated her style in other formats. By the third song, Elaine was hooked and she could not wait to go back! Fast forward ten months: This non-dancing WERQaholic was WERQing every chance she got and had left most struggles with body image long behind in the dust. One of her instructors recommended considering taking the instructor training, and although it hadn't been on her radar, after mulling it over, decided that, if nothing else came of it, it would be another chance to WERQ! A week after joining the WERQforce, Elaine had a new-found passion for WERQing the other side of the room! Elaine holds a Group Ex Fitness Certification through AFAA, a WERQ Certification, and CPR/AED Certification.
