A Town-Appointed Committee Dedicated to Environmental Issues Affecting Westport
The Mission of the Green Task Force is to advise Westport's First Selectman and Town Commissions and Departments on determining and setting environmental policy and decisions for the purpose of transforming Westport into an environmentally responsible community. The Green Task Force will educate, encourage and assist Westport residents, businesses, and the Town to adopt sustainable practices consistent with this purpose. The Green Task Force role is both pro-active and reactive.
This is the Facebook site for the Town of Westport Connecticut's Green Task Force. The Green Task Force is a nine person group serving at the appointment and pleasure of the First Selectman to further environmental responsibility, awareness and action.
On an annual basis since 2008, the Green Task Force has recognized the efforts of outstanding individuals, including youths, as well as businesses and other community organizations who have demonstrated a commitment to protecting and improving the environment in a way that contributes to a long-term positive effect on the sustainability of Westport, by awarding a "WeGreen Westport" Award.
