Mr. Ranjit Rai determines the imbalance of vatta, pitta and kapha by examining pulse, tongue and eyes. He may ask about your personal medical history as well as your general history in detail. After a detailed discussion he uses many kinds of suggestions including (but not limited to) diet and lifestyle changes, meditation, exercise, abhyanga (ayurvedic oil massage), ayurvedic remedies, yoga and panchkarma. Suggestions vary according to doshas and the different needs of the person. Ayurvedic formulas use medicinal plants and minerals, and they work together with the other suggestions like diet and lifestyle changes in a natural way on the whole body, and give a sense of well-being as a whole, rather than to just relieve some of the symptoms of a particular ailment.
WHAT IS AYURVEDA?
Ayurveda – the most ancient Indian medical health care science, its antiquity going back to the Vedas, and it is considered the Upveda of Atharvaveda. In sanskrit language ‘Ayu’ means ‘Life’and ‘Veda’ means‘Science or Knowledge’. So ‘Ayu-veda’ means ‘The Science or Knowledge of Life’. It is a system of herbal medicine considered more than 5000 years old. Ayurveda is a pro-nature diet and lifestyle oriented health-science system which is strongly promotive and preventive. The science considers and cares for an individual’s soul, body and mind all together as a single unit. Ayurveda provides the knowledge to lead a good life by reducing the chances of illness, and if illness does happen, the safest way for a complete cure. Ayurveda is recognized by the World Health Organization as an effective, traditional health science.
