|About||Our mission is to conserve natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife and their habitats, to benefit humanity and the earth’s biodiversity.|
The purpose of the York Audubon Society is to:
(1) promote an appreciation of the wonder, beauty and variety of nature;
(2) to promote a better public understanding of all forms of life and the
life support systems of air, land, and water and their interrelationships; and
(3) to foster a recognition of the need to protect wildlife, habitat, and
natural resources and to use and manage natural resources wisely
York Audubon Society Provides and Supports:
-Membership Meetings providing speakers, slides, films and powerpoint presentations on environmental issues and topics.
-Field Trips for bird watching, wildflowers, nature.
-Winter Bird Feeding at Pinchot State Park, Codorus State Park, Rocky Ridge York County Park and Richard Nixon York County Park.
-Audubon Adventures Environmental educational resources for grades 3-5.
-Newsletter published 5 times a year.
-Environmental Projects including wetland preservation, riparin buffer restoration and other tree plantings
-Annual Bird Seed Sale Event to provide funding for environmental education projects.
-Annual Christmas Bird Census that Defines York County bird population.
