'Speechless' marks rosenclaire’s fourth solo exhibition at Goodman Gallery in which Rose Shakinovsky and Claire Gavronsky question the power of words to represent and relate to our surroundings.

Shakinovsky’s semi-abstract prints boldly seek to 'represent the new visual language that may define these times’. In these enigmatic pieces she strips back stock media images of recent natural disasters and social upheavals, from the Grenfell Tower fire to the Syrian refugee ‘crisis’ and the Natal floods.

Gavronsky’s delicate pastel work takes a broad look at exploitation across the ages, regularly positioning a lone male figure in a state of remorse. In one striking work, this colonial figure kneels before a flock of imposing Dodos, perhaps joining them in extinction.

rosenclaire recently participated in international museum group shows: 'Right to the Future' (2017) at the Museum of the 20th and 21st Century in St. Petersburg, which celebrated 100 years of the Russian revolution and 'L’emozione dei COLORI nell’arte' (2017) at Castello di Rivoli in Italy, which explored the use of colour in art movements across the canon.
