Misión The Student Government Association desires:

To provide an effective organization for the administration of the student body;
To establish official channels through which student opinions may be expressed;
To promote students' rights and responsibilities;
To ensure the growth and development of self-government for all students;
To encourage university pride, to promote academic freedom and academic responsibility;
To protect the rights of students;
To promote full cooperation between students, faculty and administration in the constant pursuit of excellence, justice, and quality of life for all students at The University of Southern Mississippi.
Descripción Under the Judicial Branch, the Student Judicial Board operates for the benefit of the students that it hears. The Board is comprised of nine members appointed by the Attorney General of the Student Government Association. The current members of the Student Judicial Board are:
