Karate Classes for both Children and Adults
International Shotokan Karate
The ISK was formed in 1983 by Sensei's Lee and Pauline Bindra, on their return from the USA. Sensei Pauline was a pioneer in karate. Through dedication and perseverance overcame the hardships in a then dominant male art. She set up many karate governing body and was responsible for for the movement and growth of karate in England. She then went on to form the I.S.K. with her husband Sensei Lee Bindra. They have taught many of England's top Shotokan instructors, who now head their own associations.
The ISK is also part of the English Karate Federation, the only recognized governing body for karate in England, which is also recognized by the sports council and the World Karate Federation (Olympic committee recognised). The ISK was also a founder member of the English Karate Federation.
At the ISK we practice and promote the style of Shotokan Karate, which is the most popular style worldwide. We run specialised Samurai Sam kids karate classes, that introduce a fun element into karate. It teaches kids respect, discipline, confidence and how to defend themselves.
Our adult classes are structured and help given in many areas.
The ISK has Dojos (Training Halls) such as at Sidcup and Dartford, which have been Karate Clubs for nearly 40 years! Plumstead and Welling Library Dojos have been in the same premises since 1983.
Our clubs span across the South including Greenwich, Welling, Eltham, Erith, Belvedere, Bexleyheath, Sidcup, Thamesmead and Swanley
Men - Women - Children are all welcomed. We do not discriminate and all are valued equally!!!!
