À propos RED RIVER VALLEY VETERANS MEMORIAL
Our founder, Doug Weiberg pitched the idea of Paris having a Veterans Memorial to the area leaders. Shortly afterwards we were granted a 99-year lease from the City of Paris for about one acre next to Love Civic Center. Next came design and fund raising. Denney Architect provided the design work at no charge. Doug began creating an organization to promote and raise funds for the construction. In 2010 ground was broke and funding for the ground work was available thru donations. Since that time, we were granted additional land for a total of 1.3 acres.
Mission
The Red River Valley Veterans Memorial honors all veterans who have served in our military or on current active duty. The Memorial is a place for reflection, remembrance, gratitude and a place to educate present and future generations of the sacrifices made by members of their own family and their community to secure the freedoms we all enjoy.
