Learn specific techniques for your camera and improve your bird photography!

Fundamentals of Field Photography
Get the most from your camera in a single comprehensive session. We begin with the fundamentals of light, shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Then we move to the challenges of motion and mastering depth of field. From there we work on metering and other essentials for getting the most accurate or creative shot. We practice macro photography so that you can capture images of small things in nature (or indoors). And we’ll shoot together in “scenarios” to help you with birds and other wildlife, landscapes, portraits, odd lighting or your own photographic aspirations. With enrollment limited to eight people, this is Bryan’s signature workshop for folks who want extraordinary photos from ordinary point-and-shoot cameras or SLRs.
Please sign up for this workshop by calling or emailing the Birds of Vermont Museum (802) 434-2167 / museum@birdsofvermont.org

Limit: 8
$75 / discounted to $65 for Museum Members

About Bryan

With his blend of entertainment and education, Bryan Pfeiffer has taught many hundreds of people to photograph nature, family, pets, sports, artwork, sunsets, landscapes and most any other creative or professional aspiration. In this workshop, you’ll master buttons, dials and menus. No longer will you select “AUTO” on your camera and hope for the best. You’ll learn the digital essentials, everything from metering to ISO. It’s practical photography for ordinary people like you. Even with your little point-and-shoot.

A writer, field biologist and photographer, Bryan is first and foremost an educator. Whether he’s teaching photography in the Grand Canyon, writing at the University of Vermont or birdwatching off the coast of Maine, Bryan uses humor, exuberance and practicality for effective learning.
