The 9/11 Memorial Museum invites third through twelfth grade educators to attend 'Teaching 9/11: Where History, Memory, and Myth Intersect' on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. This FREE full-day professional development conference features a keynote address about conspiracy culture in American history from Stephen Andrews, Interim Editor, Journal of American History, and Adjunct Professor, Department of History, Indiana University, followed by breakout sessions led by 9/11 Memorial Museum staff. Sessions will address a wide range of challenging content areas, including the enduring repercussions of the attacks, how to approach 9/11 with elementary students, the rise of al-Qaeda, using art and artifacts to spark dialogue about difficult topics, and media literacy.

The program runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All participants receive free curricular materials at the completion of the program.
