Charlotte Key found her love of the law at the age of twelve years old. After participating in a mock trial in her sixth grade English class, there was no doubt about what she wanted to do when she grew up. Her goal is to not only provide excellent service to clients, but to also educate clients about how the law plays a part in running a successful business, leaving a legacy for family and ensuring that families are protected when faced with the inevitable.
During her career, she has practiced with top law firms in the Los Angeles and Dallas areas. She has experience representing both private and public corporations in various corporate transactions including multi-billion dollar construction financing transactions, corporate reorganizations, mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactions. She regularly counsels small and middle market business entities regarding general corporate matters related to daily operations. She also has extensive experience advising entrepreneurs on forming new entities.
In addition to her corporate expertise, Charlotte assists clients with creating estate plans tailored to the client's specific needs and goals to leave a legacy for their families. She is also experienced in helping families through the process of probating simple and complex estates, as well as handling probate litigation matters regarding will contests and determination of rights of inheritance.
Charlotte also strives to not only have an impact on her clients, but also to impact the communities she serves. She is active in several community organizations including volunteering with the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and YWCA Dallas. She also serves on the board of the Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce and is an associate professor at Collin College.
