Visiting Fiction Writer Angie Cruz reads, followed by a Q & A and book signing. All are welcome to attend.
Angie Cruz is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Pittsburgh and is the author of two novels, Soledad, which she has been adapted into a screenplay, and Let It Rain Coffee, a finalist in 2007 for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. She has published short fiction and essays in magazines and journals, including Gulf Coast: A Journal of Literature and Fine Arts, Callaloo, The New York Times, Miami Rail and Texas Review. She has received numerous grants and residencies including the New York Foundation of the Arts Fellowship, Camargo Fellowship, National Association of Latino Arts and Culture Grant, Pittsburgh Foundation of The Arts Fellowship, Ledig House, Yaddo, and The Macdowell Colony. She is founder and Editor of Aster(ix) a literary/arts journal. Her third novel, Dominicana is currently under submission and she is at work on her new novel, Il Palazzo.
